Diesel fleet Saxony Anhalt
VIS Verkehrs Industrie Systeme GmbH Halberstadt is responsible for the maintenance of the Saxony-Anhalt diesel fleet. This consists of a total of 54 ultra-modern Coradia Lint multiple units, which were put into operation specifically for the diesel network in 2018. The maintenance and service contract
concluded for this runs until 2032. As part of the contract, all scheduled recurring maintenance work as well as the exterior cleaning and refueling of the vehicles will be carried out in Halberstadt. Every day, up to 25 multiple units roll into the VIS depot for overnight storage.
Start Mitteldeutschland
The Saxony-Anhalt diesel fleet will be operated by Start Mitteldeutschland from December 2024.
The multiple units run on a total of 16 railroad lines.
They thus cover large parts of Saxony-Anhalt and also extend into the neighboring federal states as far as Wolfsburg, Goslar and Erfurt. A direct connection from Berlin to the Harz foreland is also possible on weekends.
During their service, the vehicles cover more than 11 million rail kilometers
per year.
